Man City need to win Champions League, says Guardiola Pep Guardiola admits Manchester City will ultimately be judged on whether they win the Champions League despite wrapping up an unprecedented domestic treble with a 6-0 whipping of Watford in the FA Cup final. The 48-year-old Spaniard said in the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s rout the domestic treble is more difficult than winning the Champions League because it demands greater consistency over a gruelling season. “I said before that I know we will be judged at the end on whether we win the Champions League,” said Guardiola, who twice conquered Europe as Barcelona coach. “I know unless we do that it will not be enough.”

France head coach Didier Deschamps is happy to give Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba his opinion on their futures but has warned them to be sure they make the right choice for their careers. Atletico Madrid striker Griezmann confirmed last week that he intends to leave the Wanda Metropolitano at the end of the season, despite only agreeing a new five-year contract last year. Pogba, meanwhile, has been heavily linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid after a largely difficult season with Manchester United. Deschamps – who has  named both players in his squad  for a friendly against Bolivia and subsequent Euro 2020 qualifiers against Turkey and Andorra next month – will give them his view but is keen for them not to come to regret their decisions. "Players are making choices, I'm not there to advise them," he told a media conference. "I'm here to give them my opinion, but it's about them. It depends on their career, people and family.

Graham Potter was named as Brighton manager on Monday and said he would aim to consolidate the club’s place in the Premier League after replacing the sacked Chris Hughton.  The Englishman, 44, who made his name as a manager at Swedish club Ostersund, impressed as boss of second-tier Swansea last season. Hughton was dismissed last week despite keeping Brighton in the Premier League for a second successive season. “I’ve worked very hard to make it to this point and the path that I’ve taken has been 14 years of learning and sacrifice,” Potter told reporters at a press conference.

Nigeria  international Asisat Oshoala has become the first African to score in a Uefa Women's  Champions League  final.  The Super Falcons attacker was introduced as an 87th-minute substitute in Saturday's final which made it her third appearance in the competition. Under interview asisat said that , it was a thing of joy and happiness for to be the first African, Nigerian to win the women's uefa championship , despite the struggles and challenges, am happy that I made my club proud, and country Nigeria proud also.

Gareth Bale’s ongoing struggles at Real Madrid have made it “impossible” for him to remain at the club, claims former Blancos president Ramon Calderon. Mourinho has offer from Celtic, claims Hoops legend Sutton Former  Manchester United  and  Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has received an offer to return to management at  Celtic , according to Chris Sutton. The Portuguese has been out of work since leaving a role at Old Trafford in December 2018. Various landing spots have been mooted for his next job, with  the 56-year-old revealing that he intends to fill another post this summer .
