The Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari, has said his All Progressives Congress (APC) lost the battle for the state because that was what God willed.
In a statement by the governor’s media adviser, Ibrahim Dosara, Mr Yari said he and the party had accepted the verdict of the Supreme Court.

On Saturday, INEC confirmed PDP’s Bello Matawalle as the state’s governor-elect.
The Zamfara government statement quoted Mr Yari as saying the party and its supporters in the state “have done everything possible to ensure APC did not lose Zamfara state but as Allah wanted, the party lost the stateGov Yari also directed security agencies in the state to be more vigilant to ensure adequate protection of lives and property of the people in the state.
